Let’s Work Together
Photography isn’t just what I do—it’s what I live. Whether I’m restoring a 19th-century glass plate or teaching someone how to use their first camera, I love connecting with others through the lens. If you’re interested in photography, history, portraits, or learning how to use your gear, here’s how we can work together:
1-on-1 Photography Lessons
Want to finally learn what all those buttons on your camera do or shudder to think, learn the Exposure Triangle? Want to take your photos beyond “auto” mode and start making intentional photos? I offer personalized, one-on-one lessons tailored to your experience level and camera—whether you're just starting out or want to dive deeper into things like shutter speed, aperture, composition or manual mode.
Start to learn your camera inside and out for full creative control
Hands-on outdoor or indoor shooting
Optional topics: off-camera flash, long exposure, ND Filters, lighting, and creative effects
Learn Off Camera Flash
Lighting can make or break a photo—and off-camera flash unlocks a whole new world. I will help you with your flash setting and setups so you can see results in real time.
Learn how to use your flashes effectively: shape your light, freeze motion, water or explosions, or build drama with shadows and contrast.
Explore creative lighting setups with scrims, flags and gobos
Great for still life and product photography, portraits, or just artistic fun
Creative, Edgy Studio Portraits
Looking for portraits that break away from the ordinary? Step into a studio space where creativity comes first. I specialize in edgy, expressive studio portraits for artists, musicians, creatives, rebels—and yes, seniors who want something different.
This isn't your typical backdrop-and-smile setup. We're talking dramatic lighting, bold composition, and an atmosphere that reflects your individuality.
Studio sessions with a creative twist
Designed for those with style, attitude, or a story to tell
Dark, moody, or vibrantly expressive looks available
Let’s create something that doesn’t just look like you—it feels like you.
Photography Talks & Presentations
From historic photographic processes to "How did he do that?”, I love giving talks that blend art, history, and show and tell. Great for photo clubs, museums, art galleries, local organizations and schools.
Topics include:
Early photography (daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, etc.)
Restoring historic negatives
Showing behind the scenes and photography still life setups.
Then & Now Projects
I create side-by-side comparisons of historic photographs with their modern-day location—perfect for local historical societies, towns, or personal memory preservation.
Combine old family photos or historic town images with current scenes
Available as digital or printed formats
A unique gift or keepsake
I Buy Glass Plate Negatives
Have old glass plate negatives, daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, cabinet cards, tintypes or old negatives that are just sitting around? I buy them. I restore and preserve these pieces of photographic history. If you have some, I’d love to take a look.
I purchase individual pieces or collections
All eras considered, especially pre-1930
Reach out if you’re unsure what you have
Custom Services
Looking for something else photography-related? Let’s talk. I’m always open to creative collaborations, exhibits, or working with other artists, historians, towns or collectors.
